Gérald Genta, the legendary Swiss watch designer, revolutionized luxury watchmaking with his groundbreaking designs, including the iconic Audemars Piguet Royal Oak in 1972. Inspired by a diver’s helmet, the Royal Oak was the first luxury sports watch crafted in stainless steel, featuring an octagonal bezel secured with visible screws and an integrated bracelet—an avant-garde design that reshaped the industry. Genta later created another timeless masterpiece, the Patek Philippe Nautilus, further cementing his reputation as the “Picasso of Watchmaking.”

Beyond horology, Genta’s visionary approach extended to eyewear through Gérald Genta by Orama, a collaboration with the Japanese company Orama in the late 1970s and 1980s. This exclusive collection of sunglasses and eyeglasses reflected his signature boldness, craftsmanship, and intricate detailing. Much like his watches, the eyewear featured geometric shapes, gold-plated frames, unique engravings, and high-quality lenses, often incorporating luxurious materials such as 23KT gold plating and mirror-finish lenses
